Former Paralakhemundi MLA K Narayan Rao.joined BJP

Bhubaneswar:20/3/19: Former Paralakhemundi MLA K Narayan Rao today joined BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Rao along with several other leaders of Gajapati district and local public representatives and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) members had resigned from the BJD on Tuesday after being denied ticket by party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Congress’s Surya Rao had defeated K Narayan Rao of by 1,454 votes in 2014 polls. This time, scion of Gajapati dynasty Kalyani Devi was named as the BJD candidate from Paralakhemundi seat.

 Meanwhile, Rao said that he will fight and win the Parlakhemundi seat if BJP gives him ticket.

Welcoming Rao to the party fold, Union Minister Pradhan said with the joining of the veteran leader BJP will be strengthened.
