Odisha Parba, the three-day-long mega celebration began at New Delhi

Newdelhi: 16/3/19:The third edition of the three-day long ‘Odisha Parba’ that will showcase the unique culture, heritage, tradition, ethnic cuisine, handlooms and handicrafts of Odisha is all set to begin in the heart of New Delhi from March 15 to 17 at India Gate Lawns.

The mega event is being organised by Odia Samaj.

This year, the entrance gate to the event will depict sunrise, symbolizing development of eastern part of India, specifically development of Odisha. Besides, a grand stage is being set up with backdrop of a lotus flower to symbolize the vision of flourishing .

The highlight of the event this year will be a 3D mapping film on the theme of ‘Utkal Uday’.

Award winning artisans and weavers from Odisha shall showcase traditional handloom sarees, dress materials, artefacts, handcrafted jewellery etc in the handicraft and handloom section in the festival.

Besides, dance and music shows encompassing Odissi, traditional folk dance and music, fusion as well contemporary flavours from Odisha shall enthral the audience each day. There will also be live music shows by seasoned artists like Tansen Singh, Abhijit Majumdar, Pankaj Jal, Susmita Das, Sourin Bhatt, Aseema Panda, Chelsi Behura etc.

A special musical programme titled “Smruti Pasara” dedicated to the memory of late Akshaya Mohanty will be conducted by his son Chitrabhanu Mohanty.

The fest will also bring delicious treats from Odisha, ranging from street foods of classic cities like Cuttack, Brahmapur and Sambalpur, Odia thali and a diverse range of sweets
