BJD leader and Ex Minister Damodar Rout joined BJP

New Dellhi:14/3/19:  BJD leader and Ex Minister Damodar Rout today joined BJP in New Dellhi.

The Paradip MLA joined the saffron party in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party national vice-president Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, party legislature leader KV Singh Deo.The seven-time MLA was removed from the Cabinet by Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik in September last year after he raised several corruption charges against various Government department

 Rout was first removed from the State Council of Ministers and as BJD vice president in December 2017 for his remarks against the Brahmin community. Late in September last year he was expelled from the BJD by party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for making allegations of financial irregularities in some State government departments.

Since then he had launched a campaign against the ruling BJD and Chief Minister Patnaik. Now, Rout’s son Sambit Rout is a BJD leader and a ticket aspirant for Paradip Assembly segment.
