Odisha Chief Minister felicitated the newly-appointed doctors

Bhubaneswar:10/3/19: Odisha  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  yesterday  felicitated the newly-appointed doctors who have been posted as Assistant Surgeons at different Government health facilities throughout the State.

The State Government appointed a total of 1,560 doctors, including 938 on regular basis and 622 on contractual mode, in the last two days.

Expressing his satisfaction over the appointment of such a huge number of doctors at one go, the Chief Minister said it is truly a historic step in providing better healthcare services for the people.

He advised the doctors to work hard to carry forward various health services programmes so that not a single person is deprived of appropriate service.

It may be noted here that this is the highest number ever to join the Odisha Medical Services in one go.

Health Secretary Pramod Meherda said that with this appointment, the total strength of doctors at Government facilities has gone up to 6329 which is 94 percent of the total sanctioned strength of doctors.

Some doctors, interacting with the Chief Minister, thanked him for the various attractive provisions for the doctors like the new restructured medical service cadre and the assured promotions for them.
