Former Works Secretary Nalini Kant Pradhan joined BJD

Bhubaneswar:8/3/19: Former Works Secretary Nalini Kant Pradhan today joined BJD in presence of party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here. He is likely to contest from Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat.

Welcoming Pradhan to the party fold, Patnaik said the party will certainly be strengthened with the joining of the former.

Pradhan resigned from the position on February 28 a month before completion of his one-year extension period. Though he supposed to retire on March 31 last year, but he was given one-year extension.

 Political circle is now abuzz with speculation that Pradhan, a 1980 batch Civil Engineer and MSc Engg (Transportation) will contest the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections as chances of retaining sitting MP Nagendra Pradhan are remote.
