Booking of Flights to Jharsuguda by FlySpiceJet under UDAN3 was held in Delhi

Newdelhi:27/2/19: FlySpiceJet will connect Jharsuguda with key metro cities with the introduction of daily direct flights on Jharsuguda-Delhi-Jharsuguda, Jharsuguda-Hyderabad-Jharsuguda and Jharsuguda-Kolkata-Jharsuguda sectors.

The commencement of booking of Flights to Jharsuguda by FlySpiceJet under UDAN3 was held in Delhi by Union Minister Dharmemdra Pradhan along MoS Civil Avitation Jayant Sinha.Jharsuguda will be FlySpiceJet’s 10th destination under UDAN.

Jharsuguda will be FlySpiceJet’s 10th destination under UDAN. The airline will be deploying its Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the Jharsuguda-Delhi-Jharsuguda sector to further enhance air- connectivity in and around Western Odisha.


Paving the way for usage of alternate fuels FlySpiceJet also operated India’s first ever bio-jet fuel powered flight between Dehradun and Delhi on 27th August 2018 with a blend of oil from Jatropha seeds and Aviation Turbine Fuel.

Jharsuguda with it’s proximity to Jharkhand & Chhattisgarh which are rich in forest resources can be a great breeding ground to develop biofuels to power aeroplanes. Urged FlySpiceJet to take this mission forward and invest in this green initiative

Investing in developing alternate fuels to power our aeroplanes at Jharsuguda will pave the way for a new paradigm in the economic development of Odisha. It will also benefit adivasis, tribals & forest dwellers residing in the neighbouring states of Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand
