Princess of Paralakhemundi Kalyani Devi joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal

Bhubaneswar:26/2/19 Putting an end to all speculations, Princess of Paralakhemundi Kalyani Devi joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday.

The scion of Gajapati dynasty joined the BJD along with her supporters from Paralakhemundi constituency in the presence of Chief Minister and party supremo Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence (Naveen Niwas) here. Berhampur MP Sidhant Mohapatra was also present on the occasion.

Daughter of Parala king and two-time MP Gopinath Gajapati, Kalyani Devi was earlier residing in Chennai. She was earlier invited to join the regional party.

Princess Kalyani Devi is likely to contest as an MLA candidate from Paralakhemundi constituency on BJD ticket in the ensuing 2019 elections, sources said.
