Naveen Patnaik dedicated “Augmentation of water supply to Bargarh Municipality” through video conferencing

Bhubaneswar: 26/2/19:Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated “Augmentation of water supply to Bargarh Municipality” through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here.

The newly-launched 19.50 million litres capacity drinking water project will cater to the needs of the Bargarh Municipality for the rest 15 years and will benefit around 1.10 lakh people, a press note released by the Chief Minister’s Officer (CMO) said.

The new project which comes under State Government’s Buxi Jagabandhu assured drinking water to all habitation’ (Basudha) scheme has been named as Augmentation of Water Supply to Bargarh Municipality.

With the completion of this project, the total water supply capacity has been enhanced from the existing 4.5 MLD to 19.50 MLD. This will meet the future demand for water supply for the next 15 years. Moreover, the rate of water supply which was initially at 49 Ipcd is now enhanced to 135 Ipcd.

The project cost is 37.23 crores consisting of a 15 MLD water treatment plant, 12.80 km of raw water pipeline and 67.44 km of a distribution system, 4 Elevated Service reservoirs having a capacity of 4.15 ML and 4 Ground level Service Reservoirs having a capacity 1.85 ML, the press note further mentioned.

Prominent among others present at the launch event in Bargarh were Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari, Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya, Lok Sabha MP Prabhat Singh and MLA Debesh Mishra. Besides, Development Commissioner and other senior officials were also present at the Odisha Secretariate here.
