Nua[pada:25/2/19:During his visit to Nuapada district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated projects worth ₹132 Cr and laid foundation for projects worth ₹105 Cr. The new projects will give significant boost to education, water supply, irrigation and connectivity in the region.
He distributed land rights titles to more than 8, 000 landless slum dwellers from 16 ULBs of seven districts. The JAGA Mission will benefit 18 lakh slum dwellers of Odisha through land right titles & facilities such as piped water supply, roads, sanitation etc.
Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion, the CM said, “I am always with the families of the farmers. I am working for them and will continue to do so.”
“The Odisha government is giving special emphasis on the development of farmers community. Separate agriculture budget, agriculture policy and agriculture council are some of the major steps,” he said.
He said the KALIA scheme for farmers and KALIA scholarship for their children will develop the farmers’ families and strengthen the agricultural economy in the state.
He also added that the second phase of financial assistance under KALIA scheme will be provided on April first on the occasion of Utkal Diwas.
Patnaik further said the state government’s KALIA scheme is a significant step to safeguard the interest of the farmers.
“KALIA scheme has shown the path to the entire nation. It is a great tool to eradicate poverty and improve the condition of farmers,” the CM said.
On the occasion, the CM provided seeds money and mobile phones to Mission Shakti members, financial assistance to the block-level federation, aids to construction workers and land rights to landless people.
