BJP and AIADMK announced pact in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for Lok Sabha elections 2019

Chennai: 19/2/19:The BJP and AIADMK announced pact in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday which is dubbed as BJP’s venture to south.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced here the two parties will jointly fight the parliamentary elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami and deputy CM O Panneerselvam were present at the time of announcement.

Goyal told reporters here that the “AIADMK and BJP have concluded very fruitful discussions and agreed to contest the parliamentary polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and by-elections to 21 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu”.

The Union Minister said the alliance will “contest elections under the state leadership of E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam and at the national level under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.

He expressed confidence about “the NDA winning all 40 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry”.
