Orissa High Court granted Rabindra Jena anticipatory bail

Cuttack:29/1/19:` In a relief to MP Rabindra Jena, the Orissa High Court on Tuesday granted him anticipatory bail in the multi-crore Seashore Chit Fund Scam on Tuesday.

Earlier the High Court has granted him interim protection in this case.

It may be mentioned here that, the CBI had summoned Jena to depose before it on January 12, 2017, regarding the Seashore Chit Fund Scam case.

However, the CBI sleuths conducted raids at Jena’s property in Balasore’s Mansingh Bazaar, residential house at OT road and office including the houses and offices of his three close associates on Jan 12 morning.

It was learned that Jena failed to give satisfactory answers in connection with the 18 crore transaction he had allegedly made with the Seashore company.

Though he fully cooperated in the interrogation and investigation process, he was afraid of being falsely implicated in the scam. Following which, Jena urged the court for anticipatory bail.
