Eminent freedom fighter Baidehi Panda died of old age related problems

Cuttack:29/1/1`9: Eminent freedom fighter Baidehi Panda died of old age related problems at a private hospital here on Tuesday. She was 87.

As per reports, Panda had been staying at Swami Pragyananda Ashram here and was suffering from old age related problem.

Reportedly, the mortal remains of the deceased freedom fighter have been handed over to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Born in 1932 at Katasahi village in Bhadrak district, Baidehi Panda participated in the freedom struggle of India at the age of 12. She also assisted veteran freedom fighter Rama Devi during the freedom movement.

Panda also participated in the ‘Bhoodan Andolan’ (Land Gift Movement). During freedom fighter Vinoba Bhave’s visit to Odisha, Panda piloted the movement and visited several parts of Odisha with him.
