President’s Medals to Fire Service, Home Guards and Civil Defence announced: nine personnel from Odisha have been nominated for the awards.

Bhubaneswar: 24/1/19:The President’s Medals to Fire Service, Home Guards and Civil Defence personnel for 2019 have been announced and nine personnel from Odisha have been nominated for the awards.

Fireman Kumarbar Samal of Odisha has been nominated for President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service. Similarly, Fitter Station Officer Bijaya Kumar Muduli, Station Officer Jyoti Prakash Rath, Leading Fireman Arjun Behera and Fireman Soumendra Nath Kanungo will receive Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.

Civil Defence (CD) Volunteer Amulya Kumar Samartha has been nominated for President’s Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Distinguished Service.

Moreover, CD Volunteers Bimal Prasad Pani, Prakash Kumar Jena and Home Guard Abhina Mohan Samantray have been selected for Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.

A total of 86 personnel will be awarded Fire Service Medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. Of these, President’s Fire Service Medal for Gallantry have been awarded to 15 personnel, Fire Service Medal for Gallantry have been awarded to 14 personnel, President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service to 07 personnel and Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service to 50 personnel.

Similarly, 58 personnel will also be awarded Home Guard & Civil Defence Medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. Of these, President’s HG & CD Medal for Distinguished Service have been awarded to 08 personnel and HG & CD Medal for Meritorious Service to 50 personnel.
