Odisha Government’s flagship programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ covered all the Gram Panchayats

Bhubaneswar:22/1/19 :The State Government’s flagship programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ on Tuesday finally covered all the Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Blocks of the State making it a historic achievement in the development of rural Odisha.

The scheme, which was launched on March 5, 2018, took 314 days to cover all the villages in the State and bring about a transformation in the rural development sector. A total of  Rs 1554.41 crores have been sanctioned by the Odisha CM for 62,857 projects in 6,798 GPs of 314 blocks in Odisha.

Speaking on the grand success of the scheme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “I’m extremely happy for the participation of the people of Odisha in the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ yojana. The scheme is an example of successful implementation of developmental works through transparency, interaction with people and use of technology.”

“I feel very happy to interact with the people through this programme and also elated to work for the people of rural Odisha,” Patnaik further said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned Rs 39.53 crore for 1715 projects in eight blocks of six districts under the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme.

The blocks for which funds were sanctioned are Dasapalla of Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur Sadar & Nuagaon of Jagatsinghpur, Lakhanpur of Jharsuguda, Khaparakhol & Belpara of Bolangir, Balipatna of Khurda and Gunupur of Rayagada.

Of the total amount, Rs 4.75 crore has been sanctioned for execution of 308 projects in 20 GPs of Dasapalla block, Rs 7.25 for 302 projects in 29 GPs of Jagatsinghpur Sadar block, Rs 4 crore for 154 projects in 16 GPs of Nuagaon block, Rs 8 crore for 262 projects in 32 GPs of Lakhanpur block, Rs 3.47 crores for 197 projects in 21 GPs of Khaparakhol block, Rs 3.86 crores for 162 projects in 25 GPs of Belpara block, Rs 4 crore for 156 project in 16 GPs of Balipatna block, and Rs 4.20 crore for 174 projects in 19 GPs of Gunupur block.

With today’s allocation, a total of Rs 1554.41 crore has been approved by the Chief Minister for 62,857 rural projects in 6,798 GPs under 314 Blocks.
