First Edition of Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon to be held on 3rd February 2019 in Dhenkanal

 

Dhenkanal, January 22/1/19: : Tata Steel BSL, ( formerly known as Bhushan Steel) will organize the first edition of Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon -2019 on February 3, 2019.

The details of the Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon-2019were announced during the launch ceremony in Dhenkanalon January 17, 2019. The event consists of two competitive races – 10km run for men and women of 16 years and above and 5 km for boys and girls between the age of 12 and 16 years. The highest prize money will be Rs41 thousand to each of the winners in the Men and Women category of 10km run. Venue will be the main gate of Tata Steel BSL Plant at Narendrapur, Dhenkanal. Last date of registration through the official websitehttp://tatasteelbsl-run.com/is January 30,2019. However, there will be a maximum of 2300 registrations and enrolment will happen on a first come first serve basis.

The registration fees for 10km run is Rs100, and for 5 km Run is Rs50. All participants will be given participation T Shirts, BIB Chip and Number as well as refreshments.

State-of-the-art technology consisting of Timing Mats and its control units, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips, split timing mats on route, tracking camera, wi-fi network on route as per international standard will be used to follow the world-class standards at the Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon.

During the press conference, the official T-Shirt for the Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon-2019was unveiled by Shri Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Collector, Dhenkanal and Shri Subodh Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Steel BSL along with other guests including MrPradipta Kumar Mohanty, District Sports Officer, Dhenkanal, noted Odia actress MsArchitaSahu, first Odia Everest climber MsKalpana Das, MrManikanata Naik, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel BSL and Shri Rajiv Seth, Senior Manager, Sports Department, Tata Steel.

 

“I am very happy that Tata Steel BSL is organizing such a world class professional sports event in Dhenkanal, which I hope will inspire people particularly the school children and the youth of the area to keep themselves fit,” said Shri Kalyan, Collector, Dhenkanal.

We have been supporting many sports activities around our plant and believe this Tata Steel BSL Run-a-thon will help in promoting fitness, good health and a sporting spirit in the region.” said Shri Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Steel BSL.
