Popular Odia TV actress Laxmipriya Behera aka Nikita Passes Away

Cuttack:5/1/19: Popular Odia TV actress Laxmipriya Behera aka Nikita (30) died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack on Saturday as she suffered a fatal head injury.

As per sources, Nikita sustained grievous injuries on her head after falling the roof top of her parental house in Gopalpur, Cuttack last night.

According to reports, she was rushed to a local hospital from where she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. Later, Nikita was admitted to Ashwini hospital here and was on ventilator support.

Sources said, she suffered brain hemorrhage and blood clots in her brain in the mishap and succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to reports, Nikita fell down from the terrace of her house in Mahanadi Vihar and had sustained grievous injuries on her head. She had been rushed to a private hospital where she passed away while undergoing treatment today early morning.

Nikita has featured in Odia movie like ‘Akhi kholibaku dara laguchi’, ‘Maa ra panatakani’, ‘Smile please’ and ‘Chori chori mana chori’. She was also the lead actress of hit television sitcom ‘Tapasya’.

Nikita was married and also had a daughter and another six-month-old child out of the wedlock.

Her death has send shockwaves across Ollywood industry. Actors and directors condoled her demise and paid their tributes. Actor-Director Sritam Dash said, “It feels really sad to hear such a news in the beginning of the year. The demise of a young talent is a huge loss to the industry.”

Veteran actor and producer Pradyumna Lenka said, “She has played the role of my daughter and was very close to me. Her family has been very close to my family as well. So, this is a big loss for me and the entertainment industry. It is almost unbelievable.”
