Odisha Chief Minister laid foundation stone for the drinking water supply project Basudha

Kendrapara:8/12/18: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid foundation stone for the much-hyped drinking water supply project Basudha at Sarumuhi village under Mahakalpada block in Kendrapara district today.

The Rs 241 crore-project of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department would carter to the needs of 200 villages of the district.

“People of 148 villages of Mahakalpada block and 52 villages of Marsaghai block would be benefited under the programme,” said an official.

Ahead of the CM visit, police took BJP district president Duryodhan Sahu to preventive custody in view of any unpleasant situation during the programme.

Earlier on November 24, Patnaik inaugurated the mega drinking water supply project at Jatni in Khordha.
