Winter Session of 15th Odisha Legislative Assembly ended 18-day before the scheduled closure

Bhubaneswar: 24/11/18:After functioning for only five days since November 16 including holidays, the Winter Session of 15th Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) ended today after functioning normally without any ruckus or adjournments.

Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned sine die 18-day before the scheduled closure.

As per the OLA Secretariat’s earlier Notification, the Winter Session was scheduled to continue till December 15.

By the order of Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, the earlier Notification had stated, “In exercise of powers conferred on me by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, I hereby summon the Fourteenth Session of the Fifteenth Odisha Legislative Assembly to meet at 11 AM on 16 September, 2018 in the Assembly Building at Bhubaneswar.”

The Notification had further stated, “According to the provisional calendar of sittings, the session will commence from November 16 till December 15. There will be meetings on all days except on Sundays, November 21 (Birthday of Prophet Mohammed), November 23 (Rasa Purnima) and December 8 (Saturday).The meeting days will include discussions on Official businesses and Private Members’ businesses (bill and resolutions), mentions the calendar.”
