Chhattisgarh:1/11/18:The Naxal attack has taken place days before the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh.

The state will go to polls in 2 phases.While voting will take place on 18 seats on 12th November in the first phase 72 seats will witness polling in the second phase on 20th November.

The bloodbath by Naxals has happened days before elections.

While attacks by Naxals in the run up to polls are not new but their attack on the media is as cowardly as it is condemnable.

DD News Cameraperson Achyuta Nanda Sahu was among the finest camerapersons of Doordarshan whose finesse and sense of commitment to his work was commendable.

Achyuta Nanda Sahu, from Bolangir district of Odisha, never shied away from challenging assignments.

He took up assignments in strife-storn areas including J&K,  Northeast, Border areas, and disaster-struck regions.His indomitable courage set him apart.

His martyrdom has left the Doordarshan family with a void that can never be filled.

The Information and Broadcasting  Minister has condemned the attack and has assured that the govt will be by his family’s side in this difficult hour.A compensation of 15 lakh for his family and a job for his wife has been announced.

The Prasar Bharti family also paid tributes to the braveheart.
