Bhubaneswar: 27/10/818:Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das on Saturday sought Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s intervention for regular flight operations at the recently-inaugurated Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda.
A delegation led by the legislator met the Chief Minister at the secretariat and urged him to intervene into the matter of non-operation of UDAN flights at the Airport. Das submitted a memorandum to the CM demanding regularisation of flight service at the airport.
According to sources, flight services were started to Bhubaneswar and Chhattisgarh from the VSS Airport after it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22. However, since October 7 no flight has landed or taken off from the new airport as Air Odisha suspended its flight without any intimation, according to the VSS Airport officials.
