Festive spirit has gripped various areas of the Odisha for week-long Laxim puja

Bhubaneswar:24/10/18: Festive spirit has gripped various areas of the State including in Dhenkanal, Angul and Kendrapara district with the week-long Laxim puja getting off to a colourful start on Wednesday.

Decorative puja pandals with arches have come up in various urban localities. Adequate police arrangement has been put in place to thwart possible breach of law and order.

Spectacular welcome arches with glittering lights adorn the pandals. The pandal hoppers mostly comprise young girls. The festive fever has gripped mainly in Kendrapara, Angul and Dhenkanal  with these places witnessing heavy rush of people for shopping.

However the possible strike of cyclone has put the puja organizers in a tizzy.

We observe the annual festival with religious fervour. For us Goddess is the harbinger of peace, prosperity and wealth, remarked 45-year-old Shantilata Mohanty, a resident of Madhial locality in Kendrapara town.
