Tension has mounted up at a village Bhuban during the course of bullock cart procession

Dhenkanal:21/10/18: Tension has mounted up at a village under Bhuban police station jurisdiction of Dhenkanal district following clash between two groups of people during the course of bullock cart procession as part of Goddess Durga’s immersion ceremony.

Warring factions of Ara Sahi and Harijan Sahi locality were locked in violent clash leading to several people injured. The trouble makers also resorted to stone pelting and vandalizing of houses.Police were forced to resort to baton wielding to restore order. Though situation is still tense in the area, no further disturbance has been reported in the area following the arrival of police forces. We are keeping close watch on the situation, said Additional Superintendent of Police, Harekrushna Pradhan.
