Kalahandi Dialogue- will try to project the path of progress of the district

Bhawanipatna:27/9/18: Kalahandi often hogged the spotlight poverty, hunger and starvation in past years. Last year, a tribal man Dana Majhi was forced to shoulder the corpse of his spouse and had trekked kilo metres to cremate the body. Ambulance service had eluded Dana Majhi & the TV grabs of the heart-wrenching scene had stirred the nation’s conscience.

However in a bid to dispel the negativity often attached to the district, experts and professionals are sitting together today to elaborate the development issues and progress the district has made in recent years.A three-day-long conclave – Kalahandi Dialogue- will try to project the path of progress of the district over the years.  The district was languishing in backwardness. However things have undergone a change in various spheres. The district is no more a cursed pocket as it is known to the outer world, Sujeet Kumar, Officer on Special Duty with Odisha Planning Board.
