JSPL Bags Utkal CSR Excellence Award 2018

Bhubaneswar, 25th,September 2018: Adding other feather to its cap, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has been honoured with Utkal CSR Excellence Award 2018 for its outstanding Natural Resource Management through implementation integrated watershed project in Angul District of Odisha. Member of Parliament Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani presented the Award during the Utkal CSR Summit and Award ceremony held at Bhubaneswar today.

Congratulating the team, JSPL’s Head (Group CSR & Education) Shri Prashant Kumar Hota said, “Watershed development project is an ideal model for improving quality of lives of the community and protecting environment. This award will certainly boost JSPL’s focus on environment and Natural Resource management under its CSR activities.”

On behalf of JSPL, Ms. Niharika Sahoo, AGM (Corporate CSR) in association with Ms. Suchita Horo and Ms. Maitreyee Mishrareceived the award in the programme.

JSPL is implementing integrated watershed development project in Angul District. Under this project, which is implemented in partnership with NABARD, a catchment of 4000 acres has been treated on a ridge to valley. the company has made Bio engineering interventions to facilitate control of Soil erosion and ground water recharge. More than 2500 rural families are being benefited by this project.
