Bhubaneswar:16/9/18: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan today called upon the State government to toe in line with other states so that prices of fuel could be brought down.
The centre is intent on bringing down oil prices. The cooperation of st urgesate government is also the need of the hour to plug the rising trend, Pradhan said here while talking to newsmen. The fuel price is regulated by international market. Such things as international market price of fuel are beyond the control of government at the centre. If the value-added tax (VAT) collected from fuel is reduced by the State, it will go a long way in bringing down the fuel price. Odisha government is collecting Rs 7,000 crore annually by VAT on fuel, Pradhan concluded.
