Railway Protection Forceseized 91 turtles of four species from Rajghat railway station in Balasore

Balasore:23/8/18: Busting a major turtle smuggling racket, a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) today seized 91 turtles of four species from Rajghat railway station in Balasore district and arrested two persons in this connection.

The two accused have been identified as Rabindra Pradhan of Bhogarai area in the district and Kartik Patra, a resident of West Bengal.Acting on a tip-off, the RPF conducted a raid and detained the two accused while they were smuggling the turtles to West Bengal. The railway police later handed over the duo to forest officials.
