Odisha Chief Minister has inaugurate e-carts for OMFED product Transportation

Bhubaneswar:1/8/18:Odisha’s dairy major OMFED introduced marketing of milk and milk product throughout the State through battery operated E-carts to make these essential products easily available to the customer.

These e-carts which were flagged off by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today wforill be covering residential colonies, housing complexes, apartments, market areas, leisure parks, educational institutions for the benefit of the customers.

Through this initiative Omfed is set to provide market linkage to three lakh dairy farmers by marketing quality milk and milk products at an affordable price.

The products like sweetened flavored milk, sweet curd, plain curd, lassi, butter milk, chenapoda, paneer, rabidi, table Butter, peda, khoa, rasogola, gulab jamun and different variant ice creams will be available through these carts. These products will be directly marketed to the consumers through Omfed appointed vendors through these E-carts. Initially Omfed has taken step to procure 50 E-carts under the project which has been sanctioned under RKVY fund at projected cost of Rs l crore.

Sources in OMFED said while all the 67 wards of Bhubaneswar city are going to be covered by these E-carts, each cart will cover two wards of Bhubaneswar ity preferably. Other important towns like Cuttack, Puri, Berhampur and Sambalpur will soon be covered, said a senior official of OMFED.
