Odisha government will organise a special vaccination drive under Mission Indradhanush.

Bhubaneswar:20/6/18: The Odisha government will organise a special vaccination drive in 10 select districts in the state from July 16 under Mission Indradhanush.

The decision was taken in a state-level task force meeting chaired by commissioner-cum-secretary of the state health and family welfare department Dr. Pramod Kumar Meherda on Tuesday.

The select districts where the vaccination drive would be taken up are Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.

Apart from the regular vaccination day on Sunday and other holidays, vaccination drive will be carried out for seven days in each month and children up to two years of age and pregnant women who are left out of the regular vaccination programme will be covered under the campaign.

The vaccination programme will be rolled out in three phases. While the first phase will begin on July 16, the second phase will be taken up from August 13 and the third phase will commence on September 10.

According to sources, a list will be prepared for the immunization programme by conducting surveys in all villages, lanes and town areas in the select districts. The drive will start from June 16 and continue till July 5. A detail list will be prepared by July 7 and it will be uploaded to the GAS portal by July 9.
