Bicycle rallies were held at different places on the eve of‘World Bicycle Day’

Bhubaneswar:3/06/18; Bicycle rallies were held at different places of the state on the occasion of the first official ‘World Bicycle Day’ today.

People from different age group and walks of lives took part in the bicycle rallies that were organised by various groups to create awareness on environment protection, healthy life and benefits of cycling.

Additional DG Satyajit Mohanty flagged-off a cycle expedition at Anand Bhawan in Cuttack. While addressing the gathering, he said, “People should use bicycle to help them lead healthy life and at the same time it will protect the environment.”

The cycle rally, which was organised by Padmashree Yoga Sports Organisation, concluded at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion said, “I wish the cyclists all the very best on their rally. They have come here from Cuttack today.” This apart, Patnaik also felicitated the cyclists.
