Paradip port today handled 86,896 metric tons of thermal coal in a day creating a new Record.

Paradip:26/5/18; Adding yet another feather to its cargo handling capacity, Paradip port today handled 86,896 metric tons of thermal coal in a day creating a new record.

The Mechanised coal handling plant (MCHP) of Paradip Port Trust loaded thermal coal of  86,896 MT  for  Andhra Pradesh Power Development Corporation (APPDCL) to one Panamax vessel- ‘M.V. Indus Fortune’ being chartered by Bothra Shipping Services private limited., surpassing all previous records.

The above quantity was loaded using two ship loaders in record time of about 18 hours. The feat was made possible due to close co-ordination & monitoring by PPT officials & wholehearted support extended by Vessel Crew, Agents & Exporter, said PPT officials.
