Haryana BJP leader Ganeshi Lal is new Odisha Governor

Newdelhi:25/5/18;Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ganeshi Lal was appointed Governor of Odisha on Friday.He is the 46th Governor of Odisha.

Lal, a BJP leader from Sirsa, is currently chairman of BJP’s disciplinary committee.He was a minister in the HVP-BJP government under Chief Minister Bansi Lal from 1996-99. His tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge of his office, a statement released by the Centre said.Earlier, Ganeshi Lal was the state president of BJP Haryana unit. He was BJP MLA from Sirsa.President Ram Nath Kovind had given Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik (72) additional charge of Odisha after completion of five years tenure of Governor SC Jamir. Jamir’s term ended on March 21.
