Bhubaneswar:11/4/18: The second phase of Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session began with ruckus today as the BJD members sloganeered over Mahanadi issue.
The ruling party members alleged conspiracy by the Centre and the Chhattisgarh State government for the delay in formation of the Mahanadi tribunal and created a din that resulted in adjournment till 3 pm.
After the House proceedings were adjourned, the legislators rallied to the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the premises of the Assembly and staged a dharna.
As soon as the House assembled for today’s business, ruling party members stood beside their seats and shouted slogans against the Centre.
Unable to run the House due to ruckus, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat initially requested the BJD MLAs to cooperate in the House proceedings and later adjourned it till 3 pm as din prevailed.
