Ratna Bhandar inspection team will face a three-tier check before entry to the Srimandir Ratna Bhandar

Puri:1/4/18;All members of the Ratna Bhandar inspection team will face a three-tier check before entry to the Srimandir Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove).

As per a discussion with the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) it has been decided to subject all members of the Ratna Bhandar inspection team to a three-tier check before entry to the treasure trove, Puri SP Sarthak Saranghi pointed out today while talking to media persons on Sunday.

However, a final call on the same would be taken at a meeting chaired by SJTA chief administration PK Jena on April 2, he said.

First the members will be frisked by police officials to bar them from taking any kind of metal items or electronic gadgets with them. In the second stage they have to change their clothes and wear ‘gamuchha’ (traditional towel), provided by the temple administration and only then would be allowed to pass through the ‘Beharana Dwara’ to reach near the entrance of the Ratna Bhandar. In the final step, the inspectors would be scanned thoroughly by the servitors of the temple authorised to check the Ratna Bhandar entrants as per the temple tradition, he added.
