Commissionerate police tried to forcibly evict the agitating Teachers

Bhubaneswar:20/3/18: The teachers’ agitation under the aegis of All Odisha School College Teachers’ and Employees’ United Forum took an ugly turn following a scuffle with police personnel in front of Capital High School here today.

Tension prevailed when senior officials of the Commissionerate police tried to forcibly evict the agitating teachers who were staging demonstration in front of the school which is an evaluation centre for matric answer papers.

The police also resorted to lathi charge to disperse the teachers as they were restricting entry of other teachers, engaged by the state government for evaluation of Matric answer sheets at the centre.

Many teachers have been detained by the cops in connection with the incident.

Notably, the teacher’s body had earlier announced to boycott the evaluation process of Matric answer papers, which began from today and staged demonstration in front of 57 centres across the state in order to press their demands.
