Odisha government approved affordable housing project over 2.79 acres in Kalinga Nagar Development Authority

Bhubaneswar:17/3/18: The Odisha government on Saturday approved affordable housing project over 2.79 acres in Kalinga Nagar Development Authority (KNDA) area of Jajpur district

The affordable housing project has been approved in the first meeting of the Empowered Committee on Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi here.

While giving nod to the project, Padhi directed the agency to prioritize proper planning and development of the industrial area within its jurisdiction.

It was decided that KNDA in close collaboration with IDCO would develop the industrial areas with appropriate housing and social infrastructure facilities in the perspective of future developmental needs.

The Chief Secretary further directed to intensify enforcement activities for stopping the illegal constructions and recovery of encroached land.

The authority was also directed to protect the open government land to save it from encroachment. The proposal for construction of one rental housing complex for construction workers was also discussed in detail and it was decided to construct one such project keeping in view the quantum of requirement.

Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das while presenting the updates said that in the meanwhile an advisory committee for KNDA has been constituted involving all the major stakeholders.

The CDP has been approved by the government.  The meeting also discussed and approved the proposal for the establishment of Kalinga Nagar Manufacturing Zone (KNIMZ) over Kalinga Nagar industrial complex by IDCO.

The available data show, the CDP of KNDA covers 161 revenue villages spreading over an area of 458.78 sq. km.
