Sundergarh Nagarik Committee had decided to observe 12-hour Bandh protest the toll collection on the Biju Expressway

Rourkela:16/3/18; The Sundergarh Nagarik Committee (SNC) had decided to observe 12-hour Bandh across the district on Saturday to register their protest the toll collection on the Biju Expressway, between Rourkela and Sambalpur.

The bandh will exempt the health services and educational institutes.

“We are protesting the toll collection on the expressway because the road is not fully complete and still some patches of road work are left to be done. Still the toll cess is being collected. It’s arbitrary”, said said president of SNC Ashok Das.

Executive Engineer Public Works Ddepartment Sundergarh PK Pradhan said “everything was being done as per the agreement between the executing agency L&T and the state government. The toll collection can start once 80% of work is over and in this case it is almost over”.
