Odisha Chief Minister grace the ongoing silver jubilee function of the solemn ‘Pattabhiskek’

Puri:10/2/18; Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Puri on Saturday afternoon hours to grace the ongoing silver jubilee function of the solemn ‘Pattabhiskek’ ceremony performed by Puri Shankaracharya at the Govardhan Peeth. The ceremony was also graced by Nepal King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev apart from Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibya Singh Dev.

Interacting with the media, Patnaik said, “I’m extremely happy to have the opportunity of joining the solemn occasion of Puri Shankaracharya’s “Pattabhisekh” ceremony. I accord my due reverence to Puri Shankaracharya and convey my good wishes to you all present here. In our ‘Guru Parampara’ (tradition of spiritual teacher), In his address, Puri Shankaracharya Shri Nischalananda Saraswati raised concerns over the degrading spirituality in today’s times. He emphasized on the spiritual development of the people of Odisha which is a pre-requisite for their all round progress. Without spirituality, neither Odisha nor India can accelerate further on the path of development.”

Comparing the divinity of the Jagannath Temple in Pui with the Pashupati Nath Temple in Kathmandu, Shankaracharya said that both symbolize the epitome of spirituality.
