Bhubaneswar:20/12/17;Availability of advanced medical facilities nearby and high medical expenses are the two major concerns for people suffering from health ailments and also for their families. Therefore, I am particularly happy that starting this New Year, we are launching new initiatives to take care of advanced healthcare needs of the people for free of cost. These advanced healthcare services will be available in the districts across the state, so that the people don’t have to travel to big cities for their treatments.
From 1 January 2018, diagnostic services like high-end pathology, Digital X-ray, CT Scan, MRI etc will be made available free of cost at public health facilities under NIDAAN scheme. Similarly, the SAHAY scheme will render life-saving dialysis services to kidney patients totally free of cost at 25 DHHs and CHC Narsinghpur in Cuttack district. SAHAY will alleviate worries of our people over high medical expenses.
We are also starting AMA Clinics to provide specialist services in various disciplines along with diagnostics and all medicines free of cost at the Urban health centres. More than 45 lakh population will benefit from the services across 27 towns and cities.
On the occasion, I presented awards to best performing districts in terms of IMR and MMR reduction. At the Collectors’ Conference in 2016, I had announced award of Rs 1 crore for best performing districts. I congratulated Teams Kalahandi, Balangir, Nabararangpur and Keonjhar for excellent work in reducing MMR and IMR.
