Forest officials translocated spotted deer from their habitat in Raj Bhawan to Nandankanan

 

Bhubaneswar;2012/17;Forest officials have translocated spotted deer from their habitat in Raj Bhawan to Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP).

The translocation of these mammals was necessitated as deer population had registered sharp rise in the forest cover within the Raj Bhawan.

Two female deer species were shifted today to the zoo. They will be kept separately to get acclimatize to the alien environs before released in the wild, said Deputy Director, NZP Jayan Das.
