Bhartruhari Mahtab stated that December 25 is not the actual birthday of Jesus Christ

Cuttack: 4/12/17;BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab on Sunday stated that December 25 is not the actual birthday of Jesus Christ as being celebrated across the world.

Speaking at a workshop organised by ‘Free Thinker’ association in Cuttack on Sunday, Mahatab said that Christians across the world celebrate December 25 as the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ but Jesus had not taken birth on that particular date. “Whoever has read the Holy Bible knows this truth. December 25 is not the date on which Jesus had taken birth,” said the MP.

Mahatab’s comments have not gone down well with the Christian community across the country. Archbishop John Barwa said, “It is already been more than 2000 years since Christians are celebrating December 25 as the birth date of Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible has no mention of Jesus’ date of birth. But if anyone can tell us the actual date, we would be happy.”
