Paradip Port Hospital and Paradip Sakshyrata Samiti joined hands with local NGO

Paradip:1/12/17; Paradip Port Hospital and Paradip Sakshyrata Samiti (PSS) joined hands with local NGOs IRDMS and CIST to observe World AIDS Day 2017 with the theme -“ My Health, My Right” to highlight the subject ‘Right to health.’

A road rally and an awareness programme were organised on the occasion. N. Vaiyapuri, deputy chairman, Paradip Port Trust and Subhalaxmi Roy, President, Paradip Ladies Club flagged off the road rally from the PPT Hospital, which comprised of residents of Paradip port town, local school children, volunteers of PSS and this culminated at Administrative Building of PPT.

A meeting was held within the premises of Administrative Building. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Shri Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, PPT stressed on awareness about AIDS and personal hygiene among the adolescent children. He also called for working towards eradication of Hepatitis B, another disease spreading through virus infected blood or body secretions. Guest of Honour SN. Vaiyapuri, deputy chairman, PPT called for awareness building so as to achieve the target of an AIDS free World by 2030. Dr. R.K. Mallick, senior deputy chief medical officerPPT Hospital explained the causes, symptoms and preventive measures to control the HIV. U R Mohan Raju, Secretary, PPT highlighted about the awareness activities PSS is conducting round the year in the locality.

Shusil Chandra Nahak, deputy chairman, PSS delivered the welcome speech while Pravat Kumar Dash, Manager (Legal) offered the vote of thanks.
