Odisha High Court rejected bail petition of senior BJD MLA Pravat Biswal

Cuttack  1/12/17: Odisha High Court today rejected bail petition of senior BJD MLA Pravat Biswal arrested by the CBI for his alleged connection with a chitfund scam in Odisha.

The HC while hearing Biswal’s bail plea directed the investigating agency to conclude the investigation of case within two months.

Biswal had moved a petition in the court seeking bail on health ground. Earlier the CBI court had rejected his bail application.

The investigating agency had arrested Biswal after it found prima-facie of the allegations of the lawmakers receiving money to protect business interest of Seashore Group, a chitfund company in Cuttack.
