Malkangiri:13/11/17; Two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), deployed in anti-Maoists operation, were injured on Monday in a landmine blast by the red rebels near Jantapai forest in Chitrokanda block of Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
“Two CRPF jawans are injured. Combing operation is underway to flush out the rebels from their hideouts and diffuse live landmines,” said police officials.
The incident took place when the CRPF forces had launched a combing operation following a tip off about the presence of a number of maoists in the forest, they added.
The injured jawans are being airlifted to a private hospital in Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
