Five kickboxers from Odisha were selected to participate in World Association of Kickboxing Organizations

Bhubaneswar:30/10/17; Five kickboxers from Odisha were selected to participate in WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) World Kickboxing Championships scheduled in Budapest in Hungary from Nov 3-12.

The kickboxers — Kartik Dakua, Biren Das, Satyapriya Patra, Jitendra Rout and Parthasarathy Das — found place among 48 candidates selected by Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisations (IAKO) for the world kickboxing event. While Kartik Dakua will take part in men’s musical bare hand category, Biren Das will compete in Kick-light 75 kg soft-style category, Satyapriya in 94 kg hard-style, Jitendra in 79 kg point and light-contact and Parthasarathy will participate in 89 kg Point Light-contact discipline, informed Odisha’s Kickboxing Association president Kartik Dakua.

The participants will leave for Hungary on Nov 1
