Ajikali Editor Bismaya Mohanty passed away

 

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9/10/17:Senior journalist and Editor of language daily Ajikali Bismaya Mohanty passed away on 8th,October,2017 night at Puri following cardiac arrest. He was 62.
Family sources said Mr. Mohanty had gone to Puri with his wife to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath when he complained of chest pain and suffered a massive cardiac arrest. His body was brought here from puri this morning on way to his village in Balasore district. The journalists and well wishers paid their last tribute to the departed soul.Mr.Mohanty was the Odisha unit President of All India Small and Medium Newspaper Federation and had worked for the development of small and medium newspapers in the state, He was also associated with various social work in Balasore. He was cremated today at his village Saradanga under Khairi block in Balasore district.Mr.Mohanty is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Mr. Mohanty was progressive and was trying to bring out periodicals of different genre including a film magazine titled Cine Darshan. He was socially active and was ivolved with many cultural organisations in Balasore.

He had made solid contribution on cinema in many odia Dailies and weekly such as Samaj, Prajatantra, Dharatri, Samaya, Satabadi, and weekly Samaya.
