Bhubaneswar:26/9/17: Khurda District and Sessions Court today dismissed the bail plea of arrested Choudwar-Cuttack BJD MLA Pravat Biswal, who is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack.

It is the second time his bail petition got rejected. Earlier, his bail plea was rejected by the Special CJM CBI Court in Bhubaneswar on September 23.

The legislator was admitted at the Capital hospital on September 22, after he was arrested by the CBI for his alleged link with the multi-crore Seashore Group chit fund scam.

Biswal was shifted to SCBMCH for better treatment on neurosurgery and was admitted at the intensive care unit (ICU), in the Trauma Care unit.

He was taken on remand by the investigating agency on September 20 and was produced before the special CBI court two days later, following which the court had sent Biswal to jail.
