Koraput MLA and his supporters locked up the office of the district education officer

Koraput:21/9/174; Koraput MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria and his supporters today locked up the office of the district education officer (DEO) after finding the official absent for discussions on transfer of a school teacher.

Sources said MLA Sagaria along with his supporters had gone to meet DEO Markat Keshari Ray this morning to discuss the transfer matter of a school teacher of Lamtaput block of the district. As the DEO did not turn up at the office even after a long wait, the activists vacated the office and locked it from outside.

“We want withdrawal of the transfer order of a teacher of Hanumal School under Lamtaput block since he is an excellent teacher and even the students don’t want him transferred to any other school. His transfer can only be cancelled if the DEO gives his approval,” said Sagaria.
