Odisha’s Chhatrapur Notified Area Councilor stabbed to death

Berhampur:16/9/17: A councilor of Odisha’s Chhatrapur Notified Area Council (NAC) was stabbed to death while one of his associate seriously injured as a group of unidentified miscreants launched murderous attack on them in their LIC colony residence in the township.

The ward no-6 councilor Laxmidutta Pradhan succumbed to the injuries while another person Tilu Panda critically injured following the attack is battling for his life at MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.

Tension has mounted up in Chhatrapur following the broad day light murder even as police patrolling has been beefed in the township.

The arm-wielding criminals barged into the house and committed the crime in cold-blooded manner.

Exact motive of the crime is yet to be ascertained. Past enmity, business or political rivalry might have been the motive of the crime. A special squad has been constituted to nab the murderers and crack the crime at the earliest, police said.
