A woman attempted to suicide in front of Naveen Nivas

Bhubaneswar7/9/17;: A woman claiming herself as the wife of Talcher BJD MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan attempted to suicide in front of Naveen Nivas, the residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, here today.

Later, she was identified as Sonalika Mohanty, who has turned media attention before for her claim as the wife of the legislator.

She was rescued by the security personnel after cutting vain of her hand and was rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the woman had tried to enter into Naveen Nivas to meet the CM but the security personnel didn’t allow her to do so. Upset over this, the woman cut her left palm with a blade.

Sonalika has been claiming that the Talcher legislator had married her three years ago.

On May 17, she had trespassed into the legislator’s quarters at Unit-IV, MLA colony, by scaling the locked gate.

Prior to this, she had staged a dharna in front of the legislator’s house at his native village of Handidhua in Angul district on May 9.
