Odisha Governor S C Jamir called upon accounting professionals to widen their skill-sets

Bhubaneswar:2/9/17:  Odisha Governor S C Jamir today called upon accounting professionals to widen their skill-sets to address a growing shortage of skilled man-power in this line of work.

“To succeed in todays accounting, finance and audit environments, professionals are expected to have a wider range of skills than ever before,” Jamir said, while speaking at an award function of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India here.

He said accountancy is not only dealing with accounting principles, but also to understand other aspects of business, which may not be directly related to accounting but could have significant impacts on management decisions.

Nearly two-thirds of orgnisations around the world are concerned about the growing lack of skilled professionals, Jamir added.
